This small engraving takes up the theme of the "tower of men" (cat. 408, 720) and addresses the natural phenomenon of high water. An attraction that leads to an anxious curiosity for vital goods, made even more precious when they appear more fragile and threatened. The struggle between the tower of men and nature re-establishes the right proportion of the forces in the field. The disaster is imminent but enhanced by the beauty of the track with drypoint.
