n. 757 A thousand flaming suns

“There it was, like a black and white chessboard of light and shadow, with clearly cut out boxes...”. This phrase by Emile Zola, taken from the novel "La Fortune des Rougon", introduces us into the intriguing universe of this engraving realized during the confinement. Similar to chess pieces, these stone trunks welcome the « confined ». The rupture of social ties seems irremediable, only stone walkways join the columns. This state of isolation contrasts with a lush nature - the trees find a dominant freedom - and a sky where a thousand flaming suns shine.
