n. 758 Being the Divine

The nature of the soul, described by Aristotle in his work "De Anima", is the theme of this large copper engraved during the lock down. The driving force of every living being and immaterial (and immortal) substance, the soul is represented here in a primordial form, a block of white marble. This volume, essential and perfect, center of human thought and light as a breath of life, floats freely in a closed world. The light, which finds its source in the spiritual spheres, favors the dialogue between the Being and the Divine. In successive stages, the work of etching and drypoint created a texture full of depth and detail. Contrasts affect and act on our sensitivity. The work opens up to our eyes and invites us to “enter” the scene.
