n. 831 Out of town!

A hanging garden, rich in lush nature, gravitating over the city. The impressions are vivid and disconcerting; the garden is enclosed by mighty walls, its foundations rest on a sod of earth; trees stretch their branches to conquer space, sap draws its strength from earth and air.  In the lower part, streets and buildings are carefully detailed; without noise coming to us, the urban landscape opens up into infinity. At first glance, everything seems plausible but the imagination is pleased to challenge the laws of nature and invent a new world. The duality of different sensations creates a passage, where the consciousness of the real is lost little by little in the dream. The work acts as a powerful mirror in which art is reflected in an effort to introspect to the very end of being. The extraordinary vision is translated into the poetic language of the engraving where the landscape develops through a delicate etching. The succession of the bites on the copper creates a sense of depth, only the close-ups are highlighted with the sharp point. The print on a coloured paper bible holder creates a serene and welcoming atmosphere. The work escapes the light of reason and gives impetus to our imaginary constructions. The title suggests the taste of travel and the need to free ourselves from the obstacles of the city.
