The door has always symbolized the passage from one place to another and in this copper, recently engraved, the space opens up to our gaze. The black color, made dense and velvety with drypoint, represents the mystery of the night but also highlights our anxieties. Our consciousness hesitates in front of the unknown but is nevertheless attracted by it. Paradoxically, black, the traditional symbol of mourning and penance, feeds the beauty and promise of a new day in this image.
