n.801 Between two shores

The photographic reproduction of this recent engraving does not do justice to the efforts necessary for its realization but is sufficient to make us discover its evocative power. The convergence of the two walls leads us to the central element: a point on the horizon from which all the guidelines depart and where our gaze arrives. The prospect is dizzying. Every detail of the texture of the walls, of the characters and of the complex intertwining of the beams is carefully engraved. If everything is built to highlight the great rift that crosses space, the engraving deals with the ever-current theme of the borders that divide and compromise the dialogue between men. But nature knows how to challenge the immobility of hearts and minds and projects its winning lymph across the banks.
