n. 802 - Finis Terrae

Looking at this small engraving, a vast landscape appears. How to explain the fascination that this vision exerts on us, open to multiple interpretations, between the dark background and a last strip of land? The contrasts are powerful, they drag and recall us and are made more evident by the precise drawing of the etching and the velvety tones of drypoint. We are bewitched but also restless in the face of this enigma, "the space-time" that opens up to our eyes. From the lighthouse, the last bastion of our land, the sky is watching us.
