n. 829 Looking for light

The engraved copper introduces us to an unusual landscape made of roughly cut stones, vegetation and human beings that gravitate lightly. Outside of the laws of physics these bodies, abandoned to their primordial nakedness, refer us to a symbolic dimension, that of an ascent towards the light. This movement is slow, in a serene atmosphere, devoid of drama. This light, which makes what is dark visible, also illuminates our intellect and spurs our joy of
living. The engraving speaks a poetic language – the details are engraved with meticulousness, the black tones of the lower part fade as they rise upwards. Finally, it reflects a spiritual quest: in a world of tensions and contrasts, sensitive souls find a liberating path by rising, thus rediscovering a bond with the sky.
