n. 586 Late

This copper is inspired by the love verses of the Greek poet Anacronte (his poetic fragments evoke human passions with lyricism and conciseness). The engraved image is not that of an old debauched man disguised as a hero but of a character who, at the dusk of life, goes through solitude without abandoning himself to melancholy or sadness. The intense black background is obtained with drypoint. Very limited edition.
