This engraving, fresh from print, requires a two-stage approach ; the first gives us an overview : the central position of the tower, a large amphitheater that closes the horizon. The second one requires more in-depth attention that allows you to discover the architectural details, the guidelines that cross the space, the tangle of the scaffolding ; and finally, those velvety tones obtained with a black ink-that-turns yellow on a plot of furrows resumed to drypoint. It’s an open scene, between myth and reality. From this chaos, could the tower save us and lead us to a higher dimension?... Engraving for true collectors.
