Appearances are deceptive, here the engraver does not want to represent a solitary who leads an existence outside the world but the being who chooses contemplative silence. When the time for listening and dialogue ends, a new dimension opens towards the Essential. In absolute silence, thought is freed from the rules of everyday life, space is cancelled and day merges with night.
