n. 451 Imaginary constructions

Inventing a landscape means wanting to represent in your mind a world that is outside of reality and to conceive it in complete freedom. This small engraving evokes a vast plain where the towers, on gentle hills, keep watch in the deep night. The absence of any event or movement gives rise to a feeling of anticipation and emotional tension. Nice contrast between the absolute blacks and the bright tones.
