n. 222 The upper room

The mezzotint technique allows us to play with light. The shadows are so deep that our eyes seek the light, here on the threshold of a lighted room. Observing the composition, a thin diagonal crosses the space and indicates the direction; the steps, true horizontal blades, invite us to climb; in the upper part, the light source lets us glimpse another reality. Time seems to be suspended, also hesitating between shadow and light. Very limited edition ... to the delight of the collector.
