In the cycle dedicated to everyday objects, this etching represents an inner world. Books and notebooks, without an apparent order, rest on a shelf; some with worn-out backs, folded corners, creased covers, with a pleasant alternation of decorative motifs. The whole gives us an intimate and quiet atmosphere. The inhabitant is not far away. The diagonal of the books crosses that of the shadow creating the idea of movement. A porcelain coffee maker contributes, with its elegant shape, to make the composition more harmonious.
