n. 007 The lighthouse

This copper, which is part of the author's first catalogued works (1986), has recently been revived and modified for a new edition. The drypoint outline and the application of coloured Bible paper reinforce the poetic vision of an abandoned building in a vast landscape. Without the presence of the sea and forgotten by men, the lighthouse seems to be the witness of a distant civilisation or of a nature in revolt. The details emerge little by little, attract our gaze and, without realising it, we immerse ourselves in the silence of an inhospitable world that belongs to our memory.
