n. 472 The island of poets

This engraving is a fundamental work, dear to its author (and to collectors). Look at the composition, it’s neat. The island stands in a central position, open to our eyes. It’s there, still. The details are important and in a disorder only apparent, everything is traced meticulously: the lush vegetation, the rocks that surround this small land lost in infinity, the characters on the unusual building suspended in the void and finally, these letters floating in space and forming a carpet of signs of improbable writing. This island just seems real, like a symphony where every element has its function. Place where the impossible is realized and where every free thought flies, the time of a glance.
