The limited edition of twenty copies and the rarity of the technique used alone cannot justify the value of this etching on copper made in December 2012 ; the quality of the deep, velvety blacks - replaced here with shadowy lands - attracts our attention. The large central chandelier is the only source of light in the room and creates, in a vaguely defined environment, a suspended atmosphere: everything is motionless and uncertain. In the deep night, the details vanish. The same people are waiting for an unlikely event. These absolute blacks enhance the emotional values of this etching.
