In his introduction to the work of the engraver Flocon, Gaston Bachelard states that "every minimal stroke of an engraving is already a trajectory...it drags the volumes and creates movement" (Paysage, Ed. de l'Aire, 1982). It is with this perspective that this etching, created in 1990, should be studied. In the living room, the masses, sketched with a swiftly moving tip, seem to revolve around the table where all the vanishing points converge. The central room of the house—it could be a reception area or a space where the family gathers—lives and comes alive thanks to this interweaving of strokes. In this beautiful alternation of light and dark tones, we are invited to enter the scene!
