
The Happy Valley – the engraving is inspired by a novel by Annemarie Schwarzenbach – opens onto a surprising landscape: a vast arena surrounded by a high wall and small characters who meet peacefully. It resembles a refuge for a humanity at odds with society, for tormented souls in search of their identity or a bit of peace. Although one feels safe, the apparent hospitality cannot hide the discomfort one feels in front of this large, bare and too white courtyard. Without doors or windows, the outside world is inaccessible. The Happy Valley is a strange microcosm that attracts for its intriguing beauty but that must be admired from afar, as a precaution...
