By cutting a large portion of the copper plate, the engraver deprives us of the vision of what appears so fundamental in a church interior: the apse. Is it not there where the glances and prayers converge, where all the symbolic elements are gathered? Yet this missing part focuses our attention. The gaze abandons itself to contemplation. The Source becomes Light, the rest is only decoration. Forgotten in a drawer for a long time, this copper also requires some light.
