Through her writing, Annemarie Schwarzenbach, leads us to distant lands. This need to leave, to break ties with a generation attracted by the ideology of the superior race and by war, allows us to glimpse the torments of a free spirit. She conceives the idea that "life must be movement" and the search for a new vision of the world. This fragment urges us, hers existential questions become ours. The engraving interprets her feelings; through the breaches in a mighty wall a human flow is in search of a better destiny.
